Job description

Support Worker (3625)

We have an exciting opportunity for a  Support worker to join our dedicated team in Maesteg, Bridgend, working 39 hours per week. In this role, you will support people to build relationships, try new things, and feel part of their community – so that they can live good lives.

You will need to hold a full UK driving license for this role.

We are three men in a shared house. We are looking for a support worker who can encourage us to do more - both in our home and in our local community.

The men enjoy going to the pub, Men's Shed, cafés for cake and coffee and going out for meals. They also like visiting family and attending the monthly discos and Mirus events.

They enjoy going for walks, whether that is in the countryside or along the seafront. They also enjoy watching football and would love someone who would be happy to watch football with them and perhaps support them to attend some local games.

There are lots of things to do around their home too. They have a large kitchen and dining room where they enjoy preparing and cooking meals, and they would like someone who can support them to take part in these activities.

So, who are we looking for? …. Someone who is calm and will take the time to help us express myself. We like banter and fun in our home so would prefer someone who is outgoing, and bubbly can make us laugh and has a good sense of humour!  People who are fun to be with and will help us try out new things. And someone who likes music, walking, football and cooking. We prefer to have a driver as we have our own cars and use these to get and about.

We know that people have better lives when they feel part of their community – and the community benefits too! That's why we work with others to build networks that encourage people to explore opportunities, discover new interests, develop relationships, and enhance their independence.

Everything we do is guided by our values: Together, Respectful, Responsible, Empowering, and Courageous.
