We have an exciting opportunity for a part time Support worker to join our dedicated team in Maesteg, Bridgend, working 30 hours per week. In this role, you will support people to build relationships, try new things, and feel part of their community – so that they can live good lives.
You will need to hold a full UK driving license for this role.
You will be supporting two ladies and two gentlemen who live in Maesteg in a shared house. We are looking for a support worker who can encourage us to do more - both in our home and in our local community.
The Lady supported said ““I love doing word searches jigsaws and building Lego of which Friends Lego is my favourite. “I also like to garden and am planting some fruit, herbs and vegetables as well as flowers as I love to have my garden looking good and have my own garden swing to sit in and enjoy. I like arts and crafts and have painted my own Peebles for my garden.
One Gentleman supported said that I love music and my favourite artist are Elvis and the Animals, but I like most 50's, 60's, music. I do not mind music from 70s and 80s as well but anyone who loves music will be great in supporting me” “ I like to attend musical shows and concerts,
The other Gentleman said “I love walking, both in the countryside and beach, as well as locally in parks and bike trail walks. I love home cooked food and my favourite is a Sunday Dinner, although I enjoy eating out and going for a Cuppa if there a nice cake with it all the better.
We would really love to become more independent and be able to do more of tasks ourselves, we really would like you to support us to learn new skills around our home. We love to decorate our home and have BBQs in my Garden and parties if you have the interests above, we love to meet you and welcome you to our support team”.

What You'll Do
As a Support Worker, you will:
- Support people to do the things they enjoy, try new experiences, and live good lives.
- Assist with household tasks, shopping, meal preparation, personal care, and maintaining routines.
- Encourage and support people to strengthen relationships with family, friends, and their community.
- Work alongside professionals such as social workers, nurses, and occupational therapists to ensure people receive the best support.
- Listen to the people you support and support them to make choices about their lives.
