Job description

Support Worker (3639)

We have an exciting opportunity for a support worker to join our dedicated team in Clydach. In this role, you will support people to build relationships, try new things, and feel part of their community – so that they can live good lives.

You will need to hold a full UK driving license for this role.

The service is a busy, friendly, and rewarding Supported Living service, where you will have the opportunity to make a real difference every day. You will be supporting six amazing individuals, each with their own unique personalities, interests and hobbies. The people supported at the service enjoy a wide range of activities and are looking for caring, positive and enthusiastic Support Worker who will share their interests, encourage independence and support them to enjoy life to the fullest.

They enjoy going out into the community to meet friends, travelling on buses, shopping, bowling, cinema trips, eating out and going for walks. They love keeping in touch with family through FaceTime and spending quality time with the people who matter to them. Sports are a favourite, particularly horse racing and supporting the Swans FC, alongside music, karaoke, discos and attending live shows.

They also enjoy being creative through arts and crafts, painting, making jewellery, building Lego and playing board games. Other favourite activities include swimming, spa days, pamper sessions, watching Disney and animated films, cooking and baking, and relaxing outdoors. Coffee and cake, fish and chips and other favourite treats are always appreciated!

The people supported value staff who are happy, bubbly, patient and engaging. They enjoy having meaningful conversations, staying busy with activities, spending time in the community and having opportunities to relax in their own space. Maintaining family relationships, following familiar routines and feeling listened to are also very important to them.
